The tobacco industry demands strict standards for the usage of conveyor belts. One of the criteria is that the belt passes the Pyrolysis test. This is a combustion test at 800 degrees, in which the released gases are analyzed to make sure they are free of nitrogen, sulphur, chlorine and fluorine. Pyrolysis conformity means that the belt sample passed this test and can be safely applied in the tobacco industry.
